tuesday twist: purple maxi dress {part 1}.

Hello everyone, I'm so so excited to bring you a brand new feature on Lenore Lamé called "Tuesday Twist." Every month I will be featuring a different piece and on {most} Tuesdays, (depending on how many ways I find), I'll show you guys a different way to style it! So today, here is....

Different ways to style a maxi dress: Part 1.

I've owned this pretty purple maxi for a few years now, so it's definitely time to mix up how I wear it! I love that adding this little denim tie-front vest completely changes the feel of it and turns it into a great casual summer BBQ-type outfit!

Purple maxi dress: Forever 21. Denim tie vest: borrowed (similar here). Cross-body purse: Aldo. Braided black sandals: Merona from Target (similar here). Sunglasses: borrowed Raybans. Peacock cuff: Forever 21. Nail color: "Rumple's Wiggin'" by OPI.

Before I started my blog, I definitely struggled with thinking outside the box when it came to styling many of my pieces. For example, I've had this dress for a few years and always wore it as-is.......still cute, but anyone can do that, you know?
Since starting my blog, however, I've really had to push myself to style my pieces in versatile ways. Not only does it make the pieces of my wardrobe go a lot further, but I think it really pushes me in my styling abilities.
I hope that these upcoming posts inspire you to put a "twist" on some of your pieces. If you're like me, you'll feel like you're reinventing your wardrobe a little bit!

Make sure you're following Lenore Lamé so you don't miss out on a fun giveaway I'm doing later this week!

I confronted the same problems when I first started my blog as well - I'm still stuck in a little rut where I'm having a hard time shifting out of my comfort zone. It's been about four years, but I can say that there has been an improvement. My wardrobe is still filled with neutral pieces, but I'm trying to incorporate as many colours and prints as possible! I love how you styled your outfit in this post! You look gorgeous in a maxi

Thank you so much dear! It definitely gets easier to think outside the box after awhile and I'm also a big fan of neutrals so I can add in different colors and patterns to change things up! I just love your blog :)
